As a full EPC subcontractor to SDPM JFM Construcciones, LORD provided all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and design-build services necessary for design and construction to provide 100% emergency generator back-up connection for SICU, MICU and CCU at the VA in San Juan from the new 1500 KW 480 Volt emergency power diesel generator (Generator #14) located at the South Bed Tower Building premises. LORD, via its sub contractor for design, performed all the electrical design according to the latest edition NFPA Standards/ NEC Code. LORD verified all electrical loads to sizes correctly to design and provide 100% power back up to SICU, MICU, and CCU.

LORD provided sufficient, qualified, trained and skilled personnel, registered and experienced professional electrical engineer supervision, all necessary construction equipment, infrared survey, NETA and PREPA required testing services, certified test reports, protective equipment, PPE, support, and construction meeting assistance to comply with SOW requirements.

The joint venture between SDPM JFM Consturcciones and LORD, was also responsible for installing a new 17 MVA Substation to replace existing Substation. The old substation would be demolished after construction of the new one in order to transfer all loads seamlessly without interruptions to the operating healthcare facility. This project was completed in 2013.
